The Darkness of Winter; The Light of the Holidays
Come Celebrate the Season with the Cascade Foothills Chorale
One thing we all notice during the winter season in the Pacific Northwest is the darkness that seems to linger. It is often accompanied by a light drizzle, a gusty wind, or maybe even a gentle snowfall. As we move from long, warm summer days to those filled with crisp, cool air, we realize the time is nearing when the majority of the day will be filled with darkness. And although this can have an effect on the human spirit, we know of the light at the end of the tunnel.
The light of the Holidays bursts boldly forth! It comes in many forms: the soft glow of a candle, the beaming radiance of a lit star, or the celebratory gathering of friends and family, sharing time together.
This December, the Cascade Foothills Chorale invites you to join us as we journey into and through the darkness and break forth upon the light. The concert will begin in darkness and slowly evolve and transform into a bright brilliance. Celebrating the holidays has never been so much fun, complete with a traditional Christmas carol sing-along as well as singing the 12 Days of Christmas; contest style!
Our rehearsal season begins Thursday, September 9 at 7:00 pm in the Enumclaw High School choir room. Any interested singers, regardless of their singing experience or ability, are invited to come and be a part of this wonderful community organization. We are a non-auditioned choir which strives to not only learn quality music, but become better singers, entertain others and have fun while doing it. Rehearsals not only focus on singing correct notes and rhythms, but how we can do more with our voices by using them more efficiently, how to properly control and support our voice using increased breath energy and how we can blend our voices together in choral sound. It might be thought of as weekly group voice lessons, prepared just for you!
For more information, you may contact the Director, Jeremy Matheis at jdmatheis@hotmail.com or by calling 206-819-6972.
We hope to see you there!
