Come Celebrate the Season with the Cascade Foothills Chorale
One thing we all notice during the winter season in the Pacific Northwest is the darkness that seems to linger. It is often accompanied by a light drizzle, a gusty wind, or maybe even a gentle snowfall. As we move from long, warm summer days to those filled with crisp, cool air, we realize the time is nearing when the majority of the day will be filled with darkness. And although this can have an effect on the human spirit, we know of the light at the end of the tunnel.
The light of the Holidays bursts boldly forth! It comes in many forms: the soft glow of a candle, the beaming radiance of a lit star, or the celebratory gathering of friends and family, sharing time together.
This December, the Cascade Foothills Chorale invites you to join us as we journey into and experience the cold, darkness of winter with such songs as, Blow, Blow Thou Winter Wind , by John Rutter, A Glimpse of Snow & Evergreen by the Northwests own Vijay Singh and The Hands of Winter by Mark Hayes.
We then begin down the illuminating path of the Holidays by singing One Candle Lights the Way, by Jay Althouse, Peter, Paul & Mary's famous, Christmas Dinner as well as John Rutter's beautiful Candlelight Carol.
Once the Holidays have arrived, the singing can really begin with Willan's Hodie, Christus Natus Est, Howard Helvey's O Lux Beatissima, the traditional carols, Away in a Manger and What Child is This, with beautiful guitar accompaniment.
The concert is complete with our annual Christmas Carol sing-along as well as singing the 12 Days of Christmas; contest style!
